Trapper's Tribute Page

Memories are Golden”

They say memories are golden.
Well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
No one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway,
And heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to heaven,
And bring you home again.

Trapper  "My Mate"

Trapper was born on 1st July 1991 and left this world “too soon” on the 10th March 2002.  His mother was Crossfire Caddie Shack who proved that she was an absolute asset to the Australian German Shepherd breed with what she has produced in her few litters in her life.   Trapper’s sire was Dual Australian Sieger and gold medallist Champion Prima Zorba.

Trapper left me on the 10th March 2002 as the result of a Splenic Haemangiosarcoma (Cancer of the spleen).  Thanks must go to Tim & Louis from Bundaberg Veterinary Clinic who did their utmost to give me more time with "my mate"- unfortunately the tumour had already ruptured before they operated which didn't give Trapper much of a chance but they still tried their best.   He now joins his mother Caddie, his brother Chaos and his sister Toozie.

Trapper started out his show career in style getting 2nd in puppy dog class at the 1992 National behind his litter brother Cruise Missile.  Trapper became an Australian GRAND Champion and was also voted 1999 Australian german shepherd Best of Breed by National Dog.

Trapper had a few ups and downs in his life when at 15 months of age had to have a toe amputated due to a kennel accident.  He went on and showed the world that he could still strut his stuff by winning many Best Exhibit in Shows at All Breeds and Specialist shows.  Trapper also bounced back from Torsion at nearly 7 years of age.

Trapper was not only a show dog he was my best friend and can never be replaced.  Others will come and go but none will ever take the place in my heart that he has.  The best part about owning a dog like Trapper is the wonderful memories that will always be there.
